 Gene Lightfoot is from an undisclosed island ruled by rabbit men. The ruler, King Gann, is the father of Gene and the ultimate totem. Under him are the 4 rabbit totems, or protectors of the land. Gene is one of these totems, and the newest member of the team.

There are many holidays celebrated on this island, but the most prominent is called 'Heaster', a celebration of the spring solstice and controlled fertility between the tribes.

Gene isn't always able to make it back to his island, but he never misses a Heaster weekend. As for new customs, the witch colonies celebrate all solstices, including the winter solstice. It has quickly become one of Gene's favorite.

Another holiday the Doug introduced to Gene is Father's Day. Seeing how his race is dominated by men and father figures, Gene took it upon himself to bring the holiday to his island and celebrate with his own elusive father. Being the main protector of the island, Gann can be rather hard to find, but he has recently gained a new weakness...
