Mermen

 A curious nature is what made Gene initially want to leave his island and explore the world with his best friend. And working for the D.A.B has given him the opportunity to meet amazing creatures and beings he never would have met on his island. Though, of all the different races he's met, mermen have been his favorite. Being a figurative fish out of water, he was stunned to see the beauty of the literal.
