Origins
Doug grew up in a small, conservative coven. He was a Satyr/Witch hybrid, the only member of his coven that wasn't pureblood. Gene was the runt of his tribe that no one took seriously. Seeing him as vulnerable, many members saw him as a liability and didn't see the point of befriending him. The energy of the 2 boys called out to each other, until one day...
Every so often, while in a dream state, Doug would be transported to Gene's island and the two would go on many adventures, their bond becoming stronger with each visit. Eventually, Gene had a growth-spurt and developed a human body. This did not change their friendship though, they were always on equal footing and all that changed was Doug's need to teach Gene about his new anatomy. It was perfect timing, as it was soon discovered that Gene Lightfoot isn't just a rabbit man ('Tototchin' is the name of his people), but a totem of sex that would eventually awaken when he reached adulthood.
Eventually, after years of magic training, Doug figured out how to bring his 'dream' friend back to his world. With an advanced teleportation spell that would only work on the bonds of their friendship, Gene Lightfoot was soon a citizen of Skyway City, a floating witch town south of the US.
Doug worked for the Demonic Authority Bureau, an organization consisting of various species of beings ensuring a peaceful coexistence between diverse populations. His skills as an officer surpassed even his own expectations and he was granted his own field team. Seeing as there was no ambassador for the rabbit men, Doug quickly recruited his best friend, Gene. The only problem was that his team was an active field squad, and combat experience was a must. Doug had never seen Gene lift a finger in combat, which was concerning...
This indeed happened a lot...
